Agumbe in Tirthahalli Taluk is famous for sunsets 
People from other countries visit Agumbe just to enjoy the sunset. It also receives the highest rainfall in the South India. Now, Hulikal near Agumbe receives the highest rainfall.
Places in Shivamogga district have the number of Shiva temples in the district. Among them, Tripurantakeswara and Kedareswara temples outshine others. The Kedareswara temple is known as Dakshina Kedar.
The Kotet Anjaneya temple at Shivamogga is also widely known. Talagunda of Sagar Taluk has Praneswara temple and the famous Talagund Edict on the pillar. Aghoreswara temple at Ikkeri is very significant. Sri Renukamba (Wife of Maharshi Jamadagni) temple at Chandragutti in Soraba talk is an important place of worship.
Sivappa Nayak of Keladi has built a palace at Keladi at Sagar Taluk in Shimogga district. This was also known as Venipura and was the capital of both Keladi and Ikkeri Nayakas before Bidanuru was made the capital. Bidanuru chieftaincy was famous as the granary of South India.’
